The Title Stands with ISIBAYA taking 6 Awards

ISIBAYA supreme again at the 2nd installment of the Royalty Soapie Awards. Durban was once again in bright lights as the Kings and Queens of the small screen were being honoured for their talents at the Durban International Conference Centre (ICC). It is know that with hard work one will reign supreme, ISIBAYA is proof as they scoop 6 Awards on this year including Outstanding Soapie of the year Award. The Award Ceremony also had great entertainment as DJ Merlon and Mondli opened the show with Koze Kuse. Mondli later gave us his solo performance showing his melodic voice in an afro track. And later on joined Busi as they collaborated on Easy to Love track.

The highlight had to be when the founder Winnie Ntshaba honoured Mfundi Vundla as an industry pioneer, unfortunately Mfundi did not attend the Award Ceremony. Other honours went to Cythia Shange and Danie Odendaal for the Lifetime Achiever.

Unlike last year a number of Generations Actor pitched on the night, this is the result of the cast and name chance that happened sometime last year. I wonder if we will see Generations The Legacy being nominated next year as it is one of our Soapie, We also need Skeem Sam to be in the running for next year. But is ASHES to ASHES going to be making a debut we going to have to wait for 2016. And I don’t know if UZALO is going to go from Telenovela to Soapie anytime soon. If it does then will have a very interesting year ahead of us. Had the pleasure to meet the Scandal bad girls Mosasa Mbangeni (Thembeka Shezi) who won Outstanding Lead Actress and Mapaseka Koetle (Dintle) who won Outstanding Supporting Actress.
